Find the right category for a young change-maker
From creativity and community service to science and sport, explore the eleven ACOTYA categories and choose the one that best fits a child’s contribution.
Children make a difference in many ways. ACOTYA recognises that variety through ten standard award categories and a Special Mention category.
When choosing a category, focus on the achievement at the heart of the nomination. Describe the contribution clearly and support it with relevant evidence.

If you are unsure, contact the awards coordinator before submitting. Previous winners cannot re-enter the same category, while previous finalists may enter again.
Entries close on 31 October 2026. Include the nominee’s full name and age, reasons why they CAN, signed guardian consent and supporting evidence. Winners will be announced at the ceremony on 20 November 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
