What a way to start a new week? It is a Monday and 3 term schools in Johannesburg are on mid-term break. But for Stacey Fru, it is work and no play as usual. Stacey and her team met the Police Constable in charge of Social Crime and the Captain in charge of Communications at the Bramley Police Station this morning at 10am to set her Campaign on ‘Safety and Security for Children by a Child’ in motion. During the Meeting, her team disclosed that Stacey aims to invite 50 Learners from 25 schools in and around the Bramley area to attend a day’s workshop on the 28th of November 2016.
Scheduled to be held at the Profound Conference Centre in Bramley, this workshop aimed at educating children on the importance of being safe and secured during the upcoming holiday hopes for diverse presentations by adults from many stakeholders including the Departments of Community Safety and Education, the South African Police Service and Missing Children South Africa.
What an amazing start? Little Stacey was beaming with smiles while her team is very thrilled by the fact that even though every preparation is still at its preliminary state, they have had a promise from one cash donor. Depending on the amount which is still to be revealed and the donor disclosed at a later stage, this contribution for which they are already very grateful will go a long way.
Donations in forms that will help towards learners’ transport to and from the conference venue in Corlett Drive, eats and drinks for 50 learners and accompanying adults for the day, and gift packs for these prospective active citizens are appreciated. More donations are solicited from individuals and businesses whose intention it is to promote initiatives like this from a 9 year old.
For schools, individuals and organisations that would like to participate, kindly contact the team as below.
